The Location: This facility, based in South Eastern Queensland is a fantastic location to experience Queensland, the 'Sunshine State'.From boutique wineries, stylish cafes, galleries, heritage exhibitions and museums to rugged national parks, antique stores, spectacular lookouts, gracious old hotels and stunning gardens. All just an hour and a half west of Brisbane and two hours from the Gold Coast. Your key responsibilities (amongst many) in this opportunity: - Conduct interviews, examinations and the identification of clinical problems.
- Arrange investigations, surgical treatment, and medical treatment and discharge as directed by the Consultant or Senior Doctor in Psychiatry, to which assigned.
- Participate in clinical meetings that are undertaken by the clinical unit where stationed.
- To participate in continual professional improvement and medical education.
- Provide support for junior medical staff and assist with case presentations at teaching meetings.
- Be keen on pursuing a Registrar role.
To be eligible for this role you will possess: MBBS degree qualifications from a recognised tertiary institution and hold Current Registration as a medical practitioner/or eligibility for Current Registration with the Medical Board of Australia is essential. You will also possess: - Must have more than three years of postgraduate experience in Australia, or three years of Psychiatry experience overseas.
- Highly developed clinical skills. This includes theoretical knowledge, practical skills and ethical behaviour.
- Demonstrated skill in reviewing, analysing and evaluating patient care. Demonstrated knowledge of current medical practices and issues.
- High level written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to relate to all levels of staff and hospital clients from a variety of cross cultural backgrounds.
