By integrating the resources of industry partners, universities, state, federal and industry institutions, the Sheep CRC provides innovative new technologies, products and management and marketing practices to advance the profitability and sustainability of the Australian sheep industry, both wool and meat, in a seven-year program of research, development, extension and education, running until 2014.
The next step in the development of the CRC will be the appointment of a Manager, Commercialisation & Adoption, who will also take on the position of Deputy CEO, to maximise the market opportunities resulting from the CRC's outcomes and findings. The position requires proven experience in bringing products to market and the ability to liaise with the end-users of CRC research (producers, consultants, advisors and processors), researchers and CRC stakeholders.
You will be responsible for clarifying end-user needs, as part of the planning and delivery of new technologies and products.
You should have:
a record of achievement in the introduction of new practices/new commercial agricultural products; an excellent understanding of the wool and meat supply chains; an effective professional network in the industry including producers, advisers, resellers and researchers; effective leadership skills and a team orientation.
